A super start to September
We’re looking forward to a super September as we head into the Autumn.
After another busy summer, we expect to see even more demand for our property-related services.
Many homeowners will be thinking about moving before we get too close to Christmas, whilst others may be sitting down to consider an extension or home improvement projects.
Recent figures showed that more homeowners are also remortgaging, locking themselves into a fixed rate deal ahead of any potential interest rate rise
According to the Bank of England, remortgaging loans approved in July hit their highest level for nearly seven years. Mortgage approvals for house purchases also rose to a 17-month high.
This is clear demonstration of the continuing strength of the housing market and an indication that prudent measures by homeowners now mean that the impact of any interest rate rise will be limited later.
Many experts still don’t expect an interest rate rise – of a quarter of one per cent – until next year. The volatility caused by the China crisis may of course play a major influence in delaying any rate rise too.
Commercially, we’re also seeing demand for our full range of property-related services rise as the industry’s cogs start turning again after the summer.
So, it’s all systems go for all at McAndrew Martin as we continue to grow – it doesn’t seem any time at all since we celebrated our 25th anniversary last September.
We’re still looking for more staff – especially experienced chartered surveyors – as part of our long term expansion plans so please do get in touch for more information if you fit the bill.
Please don’t hesitate to contact one of our friendly and experienced team for a no-obligation conversation about any of services, including surveys and architectural design.
