Business Awards: the countdown has started…
Just a week to go! The Portsmouth News Business Excellence Awards are jut seven days away, on Friday February 12.
The excitement is building as we look forward to the big night, the ‘Oscars’ of the local business world.
We’re nominated for five awards but equally is important is the opportunity to help celebrate and show just how vibrant a business community we have in the area as well as catch up with some old (and new) acquaintances and give our staff a night to remember.
It should be a super evening at the Guildhall. We’re on the shortlist for the Community Contribution, Employer of the Year and Customer Service titles. We’re also proud to have two finalists in the Apprentice of the Year category – congratulations to Bruce Scott and Kimberley Gaston.
One of our business partners Brewers the Lettings Agency is also nominated in the Community Contribution category. It’s reached the finals for its new offices at Drayton in converted former public conveniences. Not only have they brought an old disused building back into use, they’ve also provided a separate convenience as part of the scheme for the community.
We’re especially pleased for them as our architectural designer James Bengree drew up the plans for the office and we’ve helped support the scheme.
It should be an interesting evening not least when they read out the winner’s name for this category! But good luck to Brewers the Lettings Agency and all of the other entrants. We’ll see you next Friday!
