Can you tee up a prize for our charity auction?
Preparations for our Charity Golf Day are going with a swing – now we are looking for some great prizes for an auction at end of the night.
We have some exciting lots in hand but we’re also appealing for donations of more special prizes to help us hit our £10,000 target in aid of Rowan’s Hospice.
Examples include signed sporting memorabilia such as football shirts and golf balls, ‘experience’ days such as a driving day at a race track, signed celebrity and pop star photographs, mini-breaks, fine dining or tickets to a top London show.
Rob Marchant, auctioneer with the UK’s top leading independent regional auctioneers Clive Emson, will perform the honours on the night.
The charity auction will be the highlight of the evening after a bumper day of golf at Waterlooville Golf Club on Thursday April 27.
The day comprises 18 holes of golf with competitions and a raffle followed by a two-course dinner, prize giving and the charity auction.
We’re aiming for 100 players and want to top totals from our previous golf days to make it the best so far!
Our event has quickly become one of the premier charity golf days in the region
We’re also seeking raffle prizes and teams to sign up. Tickets are £49.50 per person with teams of four welcome.
Rowan’s Hospice needs to raise £5m a year to provide its care services for people with life-limiting illnesses in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
We are aiming for £10,000 from the golf day to pay for the entire refurbishment of a specialist in-patient room at the hospice where someone can be cared for in privacy and with all of the latest facilities and technology.
In 2015-2016, the hospice cared for 375 inpatients, providing 5,019 days of care. It also provided specialised care for 396 patients in their own homes.
We’ve raised more than £10,000 for charity over the past three years, including Help for Heroes and the Ickle Pickles charity for premature and seriously ill babies.
The event is the first as we enter the next phase of our growth following a restructuring into six divisions: Building Surveying, Project Management and Contract Administration, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture and General Practice.
