Chamber membership paying off
As a new member of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce (www.hampshirechamber.co.uk), we’re now linked into its many businesses across the county.
Membership also means that we’re part of the nationwide network of chambers accredited to the British Chambers of Commerce (www.britishchambers.org.uk).
That not only helps from a commercial point of view it also means we’re in touch with likeminded businesses and can gain valuable economic insights.
The latest BCC quarterly survey figures are just out. Although static in some sectors, the figures for the services and manufacturing sectors indicate continued growth.
Naturally, it is always prudent to watch out for any softening of the economy or concerns caused by uncertainty over the EU referendum or Chinese slowdown but locally – from our own experience – we have seen good growth and demand for our expert property related services increase.
It is always useful to have a wider context and to be able to gain intelligence, so we’re already seeing the benefits of our membership.
Other recent figures out indicate that inflation on the Consumer Prices Index increased slightly from 0.3 % in February to 0.5 % in March.
It is still below the Bank of England’s 2% target and does indicate a return toward normality.
