Clean water and cancer charities benefit from an architect’s fundraisers
Senior Architect, Salim Rahman, who works in our award winning architecture division, is no stranger to success. Salim has been fundraising by participating in two running events, which attracted donations from generous colleagues at McAndrew Martin, and the proceeds are now benefitting a UK cancer charity and a community in Bangladesh.
Salim raised £545 for Macmillan Cancer Support when he ran the Great South Run in October last year. Macmillan try to move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can and their important work relies on charity donations.
In 2019, Salim pledged to run to raise funds to provide a deep water well costing £1415 to help the most needy communities in Sylhet, Bangladesh. He raised over £880 (the rest donated by the MAKE Charity Foundation) and this well has now been installed on the side of a main road, and it is being used as a vital source of clean water for all to drink.
Congratulations to Salim for all your valiant efforts – you are making a real difference to those in need.
