Countdown starts for Charity Golf Day lift-off
The countdown has begun for our Charity Golf Day in April in aid of Rowans Hospice.
We’re aiming to hit a £10,000 target to pay for the entire refurbishment of a specialist in-patient room at the hospice where someone can be cared for in privacy and with all of the latest facilities and technology.
Businesses have already pledged sponsorship for all of the 18 holes at Waterlooville Golf Club where the extravaganza is being held on Thursday April 27.
Now the clock is ticking for teams to sign up and for donations of prizes for our raffle and our bumper charity auction in the evening.
The charity auction promises to be the highlight of the evening after the golf. Donations of prizes would be great – we would make sure anyone donating a prize is fully credited on the night.
Examples include signed sporting memorabilia such as football shirts and golf balls, ‘experience’ days such as a driving day at a race track, signed celebrity and pop star photographs, mini-breaks, fine dining or tickets to a top London show.
We’re hoping the Charity Golf Day will be our best yet with 100 players from property related businesses and organisations across Hampshire, London and the South.
The day comprises 18 holes of golf with competitions and a raffle followed by a two-course dinner, prize giving and the charity auction.
Tickets are £49.50 per person with teams of four welcome.
Rowan’s Hospice needs to raise £5m a year to provide its care services for people with life-limiting illnesses in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
In 2015-2016, the hospice cared for 375 inpatients, providing 5,019 days of care. It also provided specialised care for 396 patients in their own homes.
We’ve raised more than £10,000 for charity over the past three years, including Help for Heroes and the Ickle Pickles charity for premature and seriously ill babies.
The event is the first as we enter the next phase of our growth following a restructuring into six divisions: Building Surveying, Project Management and Contract Administration, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture and General Practice.
