Fingers crossed for Portsmouth News Excellence Awards
We’ve lodged our entries for the 2016 Portsmouth News Business Excellence Awards.
Now, it’s fingers crossed as we wait to see if we have been nominated in any of the categories we’ve entered.
They include Community Contribution of the Year for our fundraising efforts for Help for Heroes and the Ickle Pickles charity for premature and seriously ill babies.
We raised £5,138 at our latest charity golf day in April of this year in aid of the two charities.
That brings our total collected for charities and good causes over the past two years to nearly £10,000.
Two of our outstanding apprentices, Bruce Scott and Kimberley Gaston, have also entered the Apprentice of the Year category.
It was great to be a finalist in both the Small/Medium Business of the Year and Employer of the Year categories in the 2015 awards, which were held in March at the Guildhall.
Competition will be fierce again this time around, even just to make the shortlist, as many of our excellent local firms will also be hoping to scoop the silverware.
Best of luck to all for the nominations – hopefully we’ll hear more later this month.
