I was the future once….
So farewell Mr Cameron and a warm welcome to Mrs May. We’ve reached another watershed moment in a momentous month for Great Britain – and Europe and the World.
Mr Cameron was given a standing ovation by Conservative MPs at his final Prime Minister’s Questions today before Mrs May formally took the office of Prime Minister.
He told the Commons that he would ‘miss the roar of the crowd’ and that he intended to stay in public life.
In his final remarks, he reprised a remark he made to Tony Blair during his first ever PMQs as opposition leader in 2005. saying: ‘I was the future once’.
So now we see what the future holds with Prime Minister May at the helm and leading the way out of Europe.
Economic stability must be at the top, or very close to the top, of her list of priorities. As a leading firm of chartered surveyors and provider of property related services in Portsmouth, Hampshire, London and the South, we are very much focused on ‘business as usual’ and looking forward to any opportunities Brexit may bring.
With recent Government intervention in the property market, it will be interesting to see whether Mrs May follows a similar path or devotes her attention to other matters. There will be plenty to occupy her time!
We are still seeing strong demand for our wide range of expert professional services, including an extensive range of surveys, structural engineering, architectural design, Computer Aided Design and mechanical and electrical engineering.
Our best wishes to Mr Cameron and best of luck to Mrs May.
