McAndrew Martin drives opportunities for woman in construction

This month, we are celebrating August 13, National Women’s and Family Day in Tunisia as McAndrew Martin’s International Division continues their highly positive collaboration with STRAM Groupe, our official supply chain partner in Africa region who last month invited their female staff to actively participate in a Women in Construction event designed to promote gender equality and diversity in the construction industry. This initiative aimed to break down barriers and foster inclusivity by providing women in their company with an opportunity to explore and contribute to the construction process.

The Director of International Operations at McAndrew Martin Ltd, Marek Howes, played a pivotal role in organising the event. Recognising the importance of gender inclusivity in the construction industry, Marek explained the key motivation for organising the event:

“This was a remarkable opportunity for the women of STRAM Groupe to actively participate in the construction process. Our goal was to facilitate greater inclusion of women, and to promote equality and diversity. It is our mission to help more women find a path into construction”.

We are delighted to report the feedback from the event was immensely positive. Sondos Bannouri, a representative from STRAM Groupe, shared her experience of the event:

“Female staff from STRAM Groupe Sales, Procurement and HR, as well as their trainees, were able to familiarise themselves with the project before they received a detailed walkthrough and the opportunity to apply SIKA products. Their feedback was fully positive, and they confirmed how enriching their time was on site. We are truly grateful for the opportunity provided by McAndrew Martin Ltd.”

STRAM Groupe expressed their gratitude to all team members, both on-site and in the back office, for their hard work and dedication. They particularly emphasised the valuable contributions of their female collaborators, whose involvement has strengthened their ability to provide high-quality service and performance.

STRAM Groupe extended their special thanks to their partners, McAndrew Martin Ltd and SIKA Tunisia, for their trust and continuous support. Collaborations like these play a crucial role in fostering positive change and gender inclusivity in the construction industry.
