Tara Blair Payton: Revit & Mentoring for a Bright Future at McAndrew Martin Ltd.

This month’s employee spotlight shines on Tara Blair Payton, a draughting technician at McAndrew Martin Ltd. Tara is on an exciting journey of growth and development, with a particular focus on understanding BIM dimensions and mastering Revit, a powerful 3D modelling software. Under the guidance of her mentor, Paul Stevens, Tara is set to embark in a five-year development programme.

Tara’s Journey with Revit: Tara’s eagerness to learn Revit has been met with enthusiasm and support. She’s not just learning the software; she is delving into the structural side of things as well. Under Paul’s guidance, Tara will be attending site visits weekly, gaining valuable insights into the entire project lifecycle from foundation to completion.

Vocational Approach to Learning: Recognising that the best way to learn is by doing, Tara is fully engaged in a hands-on approach. She’s set to become proficient in Revit in six months, with a comprehensive five-year development programme ahead. Revit isn’t just about drawing; it’s about understanding how to extract the right information to bring a project to life.

Creating a Culture of Excellence: McAndrew Martin understands the importance of mentorship in building a cohesive and high-performing team. The company is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every team member, from graduates to seasoned professionals, has access to mentorship and personal development plans.
