Action stations for Rowans Ride
Good luck to all the cyclists saddling up for the annual Rowans Ride this Sunday in Portsmouth.
We’re pitching in to support the sixth annual fundraiser by manning a water station at the Eastney Baths checkpoint at Southsea.
A 10-strong team including our staff and their families have volunteered to help give thousands of plucky peddlers much needed refreshment on their way around the ride.
More than 200 cyclists are due to take part in 18, 30 or 65-mile long routes from 8.30am onwards.
We’ve thrown our weight behind the extravaganza as part of our ongoing support for the Purbrook Hospice.
So far, we’ve raised nearly £7,000 for the charity from such events as our golf day and summer garden party.
Our director Ian Lee said: “Rowans Hospice are always there to provide care when people need it most so we wanted to help support them too.
“As a fast growing firm with roots in Portsmouth and a nationwide reach, it is especially rewarding to help such a worthwhile charity in the local area.
“We’ll be cheering cyclists on as well as topping them up with water to help them around the course. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
Entries are still open for the sponsored ride and people can enter on the day. Visit www.rowanshospice.co.uk/events/rowans-ride-2017/ for more details.
